Grassroots Mobilization: Ending Violence in Rural Communities
Engaging traditional councils, elders, and youth networks to create sustained safety mechanisms and reject harmful cultural practices.
Sustainable prevention of gender-based violence cannot be dictated solely from capital cities. Deep systemic changes occur when rural communities, traditional leaders, and faith-based groups collaboratively examine social norms that perpetuate harm.
Community Dialogues That Save Lives
Our Village Circles program facilitates respectful, guided forums between youth and elders. Over the past six months, dialogues in 30 rural communities led to historic village resolutions banning forced early marriage and establishing community-patrolled safety corridors.
By blending traditional reconciliation practices with contemporary human rights standards, communities take authentic ownership of their protection frameworks.
